Tower of the Warlock launches on C64 with turn-based magical battles

BarracudaBits follows Broken Crown with generated dungeons, scripted encounters and destructible environments.

BarracudaBits released Tower of the Warlock for the Commodore 64 on 5th November 2026. Version 1.0 is available as a name-your-own-price D64 disk image.

The adventure begins after a failed assault on the Oathbreaker’s Tower. A second chance sends the player back towards the Warlock and the tower’s secrets.

Tower of the Warlock combines procedurally generated dungeons with handcrafted encounters and story events. Its battles include destructible environments and allies, alongside a growing selection of spells.

This is BarracudaBits’ second game following Broken Crown. The developer says several months of work went into a more compact adventure, with larger tactical battles, animations, music and cutscenes.

BarracudaBits reports testing on VICE, THEC64 Maxi and original Commodore 64 hardware, including SD2IEC and a 1541 disk drive. The game accesses its disk during play and requires writable storage.

The Tower of the Warlock release page lists the 170 kB download. The developer welcomes feedback and bug reports through the version 1.0 announcement.
