Tim Stamper teases opening “the vault”

A photograph of keys with googly eyes accompanies a short message from the Ultimate Play the Game and Rare co-founder.

Tim Stamper has teased opening “the vault” in a post on X. The Rare and Ultimate Play the Game co-founder shared a photograph of keys decorated with googly eyes, alongside a message inviting responses.

“The keys won’t STOP jangling! Might be time to open up the vault… What do you think?” he wrote.

Tim has named no game, archive project or release date.

Tim and his brother Chris Stamper built Ultimate Play the Game’s reputation through titles including Jetpac, Atic Atac and Sabre Wulf. Rare later developed Donkey Kong Country on SNES and GoldenEye 007, Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark on Nintendo 64.

Tim has used the vault theme before. In March 2023, he teased further secrets from the company’s past through his social accounts.
