Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom now has a downloadable point-and-click adaptation from BBGames, covering the film’s journey from Shanghai to the rope bridge. Released on 24th October 2026, it pairs pixel art and a verb-based interface with newly written dialogue.
The game follows the tradition of early 1990s SCUMM adventures. BBGames built it with GAE, its Godot Adventure Engine, rather than Lucasfilm’s SCUMM engine. Downloads support Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.
Indy leads most of the adventure, while Willie and Short Round become playable at particular moments. BBGames describes an adaptation of the whole film, including the nightclub opening, the missing children and the search for the stolen sacred stone.
The project combines inventory puzzles and dialogue choices with action sequences drawn from the story. Its announced set pieces include a Shanghai car chase, an aerial dogfight, a closing trap and the mine-cart escape.
An extra mystery beyond the film
BBGames has also added an optional archaeological mystery. Clues across the jungle, palace and catacombs develop a separate strand beyond the film’s plot, giving the adaptation material of its own alongside the familiar scenes.
One catacomb-door puzzle changes its solution between games. A scoring system also awards points for solutions.
The release includes English, Italian, German, Spanish and French. Those language options apply across a project offered for desktop computers and Android, rather than a build for an original Amiga or DOS machine.
BBGames notes the macOS application is not notarised by Apple. The download page includes platform-specific information for Mac users alongside the other packages.
The itch.io listing marks the game as released and offers downloads on a name-your-own-price basis. Its latest recorded page update is 25th October, a day after the original release.
The BBGames download page contains the four platform packages and further release information.
