Do you love retro games? Do you still get a thrill from booting up an 8-bit or 16-bit machine and hearing that familiar click, whirr or beep?

Do you have fond memories of the ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, Amiga, Commodore 64, Mega Drive, SNES or any of the countless other machines that made gaming what it is today? Have you ever destroyed your Speccy by inserting an interface while it was switched on? If so, you are probably exactly our kind of person.

SpriteFountain is about more than nostalgia. We want to celebrate the games and hardware we grew up with, but we are equally interested in what is happening now: new releases for old systems, modern recreations, FPGA hardware, remakes, ports, homebrew and the people keeping retro gaming alive.

Come and write about retro gaming with us

We are building a tiny team, and we would love to hear from people who want to share their memories, write about the machines they know best and cover the future of retro gaming as it happens.

You do not need to cover everything. If your knowledge is mostly ZX Spectrum, Atari, Amiga, Commodore, Sega, Nintendo or something far more obscure, tell us what you know and what you would actually enjoy writing about.

That could mean revisiting old favourites, covering new games for classic hardware, writing about modern retro machines, interviewing developers, digging into forgotten corners of gaming history or following projects that are finding new things to do with old technology.
