Master System and Game Gear cartridges are joining Polymega’s modular hardware line through the CA03 Mega Cartridge Adapter Set. Announced on 2nd November 2026, the four-piece expansion also covers Mark III, SG-1000 and SC-3000 software, plus Sega Card and MyCard media.
Polymega lists the set for pre-order with shipping planned for February 2027. It requires the EM03 Mega Element Module, sold separately, rather than connecting directly to any available cartridge module.
The four adapters divide the supported formats into distinct groups. GG accepts Game Gear cartridges, SMS handles Master System cartridges, and CARD covers Sega Card and MyCard. The fourth adapter groups Mark III, SG-1000 and SC-3000 formats together.
EM03 already handles Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges. CA03 extends its Sega coverage to earlier home systems and Game Gear.
Sega Card and MyCard support covers a different media format from the cartridges accepted by the other adapters. Both appear explicitly in Polymega’s specification.
The company describes CA03 as exclusive to EM03. Its product listing rules out use with other modules or systems. You need the required Polymega hardware to use the set.
Playmaji’s earlier teaser appeared on 27th October. The 2nd November announcement supplied the product identity and supported systems, replacing the teaser with a concrete pre-order listing.
The set is awaiting release. Polymega gives February as its shipping target and has not published game-by-game compatibility results in the announcement.
You’ll find the adapter breakdown and module requirement on the CA03 product page.
